Biographies for Mevans and Fran:
Mevans discovered tap and modern as a toddler and has since dipped into various dance styles, such as street, contemporary, west coast swing and modern jive. His tangible joy of modern jive dancing draws attention and makes him a popular teacher choice for individuals who crave this inner confidence for their own dancing. Teaching private lessons enables Mevans to further skills for all levels of dancer to excel either socially, at competitions or even for performances like first wedding dances. Mevans runs a weekly exercise and dance class, pushing his creative boundaries by tapping into a broad range of dance styles, from Bhangra to funk and even musicals. Always with an aim of inspiring new and existing dancers to learn new techniques and find their inner performer!
Fran started dancing as an adult, beginning with classes at her local salsa club. She quickly found a love for dance, subsequently adding bachata, cha cha, modern jive and west coast swing to her dance repertoire. Whilst having always loved moving to music, the technical aspects of dance training excite her and the opportunities for self-expression through dance are one of the major draws. Fran loves to share this passion with others through teaching, and she is known for her feminine and elegant style on the dancefloor. She has competed in both modern jive and west coast swing as well as performed in choreographed teams, gaining valuable experience of what it takes to be a successful competitor, a team player and a popular social dancer.
Having taught together at several national events over the last 3 years, Matt and Fran are known for their fun and friendly teaching style. Offering everything from stylish moves to spinning technique, they are a couple who want to share their dance passion with everyone; and their classes are designed to engage and excite. Along with their two young daughters, they can be found across the UK dancing at various weekenders and competitions.
